COMMON QUESTIONS
How did TOSO come about?
"Teach One, Send One" was born during a period of deep Bible study in 2012 while I was living in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Inspired by Jesus’ command,
"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age."
In 2019, this mission inspired the launch of an e-commerce business dedicated to selling merchandise adorned with inspirational messages.
What is the idea of Teaching One and Sending One?
The idea of teaching one and sending one is to teach or share what we have learned to others in our normal rhythms (routines). It is rooted in the principle of knowledge sharing and the concept of cascading knowledge.
It involves a process where an individual learns a particular subject or skill and then takes on the responsibility of teaching that knowledge to others.
The underlying philosophy behind this idea is that knowledge is a valuable resource that should be shared and disseminated to benefit a wider community. By teaching one person and empowering them to teach others, the original knowledge is multiplied and has the potential to reach and benefit a larger audience.
This approach can be seen in various contexts, such as education systems, mentorship programs, or even informal knowledge-sharing networks..
By encouraging individuals to become both learners and teachers, this idea promotes a sense of continuous learning and encourages the growth and spread of knowledge within a community. It recognizes that knowledge is not limited to a single person but can be shared and multiplied through teaching and mentorship, fostering a cycle of learning and development.
What are normal rhythms?
Normal rhythms are our daily, weekly and monthly routines. This may be your morning run/walk in your neighborhood, stop for coffee, lunch with a friend, Saturday morning basketball or conversation with a neighbor. You do not have to add another task, event or activity to your day. Just live out your life and connect with someone.
